How to feel less stressed as a Law Student - The Habit of working ahead
Don't worry, sister, I got you.
You can totally start over at any point of the year. Take a weekend to literally just catch up on everything you need to (Law School wise!!). But don't stop there. Obviously, we know it cannot continue to go on like that.
No one wants to give up their entire life in order to catch up on school work. So, maybe it's time to rethink your study routine or the mindset you approach your work with. So here's the thing. When every lecture is a presentation of so much new information that you have to work out and comprehend at the end of each day, school is not going to be great fun, I promise you that.
Sitting in a lecture without a clue about what the professor is talking about just leaves you feeling incompetend and overstrained.
But there is a way to change that (see, I told you, I got you): Take that dilemma and turn it upside down ( any Stranger Things fans here? ;) )
What I mean by that is, it is your decision wether you find yourself in the above described quandary.
Instead, develop a habit of working ahead. Yes, it's okay to be a total nerd. It's what is going to make you a great lawyer one day.
Every weekend, try to work as much as you can ahead of the topics you're going to learn about that following week. And every night, look at what is important for the next day.
Consequently, every lecture will merely be a repetition of what you already know, so you will feel super smart and ahead of the game. Plus, you do not feel the pressure to sit down right after the lecture and try to comprehend what you just heard.
It just makes life a lot more relaxed, even as a Law Student.
- work ahead
- feel relaxed
